FOUNDING Physician
Dr Christian Carson
As a multi-sport athlete from a young age I received many injuries along the way. I had received excellent treatment and not so excellent treatment throughout my playing career. Surgeries, fractures, physical therapy, chiropractic and massage just to mention a few. The important takeaway is it did provide me with insight into what I wanted to do for my career. I attended Florida State University and graduated with honors in Exercise Science while playing football for a short time. I followed this up by obtaining my Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer Florida in Port Orange. While I was in chiropractic school I was a bit perplexed as to why the vast majority of education revolved around bones and joints and very little with soft tissue. My exercise science education and personal experience led me to dig deeper into how to better treat the whole patient. After all, the musculoskeletal system works as a whole, not as individual parts! I began receiving additional education in integrated functional movement and soft tissue treatment. I truly believe the human body cannot be fixed without assessing the whole musculoskeletal function to fix individual injuries. I continue my education on a daily basis and I am currently certified in:
Certified Strength and Conditioning (CSCS), Active Release Techniques (ART), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Graston, FAKTR, Cupping, Kinesiotaping.
MASSAGE THERAPIST
Jennifer
Jennifer is a 3rd generation Florida native. She had always been very active and a car accident at 13 yrs old created many changes. Being introduced to chiropractic and massage along with other therapies was the start of her being and long term passion.
Jennifer approaches her sessions with the understanding of what it is like to be in chronic pain and also the everyday things we do to cause issues throughout our bodies. She does a combination of myofascial treatments with deep tissue , cupping and relaxing work all depending on what the patient is needing for the whole body to heal.
Jennifer feels her medical journey taught her that chiropractic care and massage were the biggest help to her recovery. This created her to want to help others and continue to learn and help herself throughout her life and get back to being fully active. Learning how to listen to what her body tells her also taught her to understand the soft tissue was the biggest and hardest thing to heal. Learning to retrain the injured tissues and body was going to be a life long journey.
Jennifer continues to want to learn about more modalities and ways to incorporate functional movement to the body and soft tissue needs of each individual person.
